Alleged prophecies of Muhammad in the Torah, Nevi’im and the New Testament

Muslims claim there are prophecies about Muhammad in the Jewish and Christian scriptures, purely because the Quran says there are prophecies about Muhammad in these books.

“Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own scriptures, in the Torah and the Gospel… Quran 7:157 Yusuf Ali

But the problem is, some of these verses quoted by Muslim are not prophecies at all! Some are prophecies but are obviously not referring to Muhammad. Oh how willing people are to twist scripture to prove their religion!

A common passage used by Muslims to refer to Muhammad is Deuteronomy 18:18-19, Yah is talking to Moses in this passage “I will raise up a prophet for them from among their own people, like yourself I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them all that I command him; and if anyone fails to HEED the words he speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account”

“From among their own people” Muhammad was an Arab, not an Israelite. Although they are both from Abraham, they are different peoples. There is biblical proof that this verse refers to Joshua son of Nun.

Deuteronomy 34:9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had layed his hands upon him and the Israelites HEEDED him, as Yah had commanded Moses”

Muslims quote Deuteronomy 33 as proving that a prophet was prophecied to be born in Arabia.

“The Lord came from Sinai
    and dawned over them from Seir;
    he shone forth from Mount Paran.
He came with[a] myriads of holy ones
    from the south, from his mountain slopes.[b]
Surely it is you who love the people;
    all the holy ones are in your hand.
At your feet they all bow down,
    and from you receive instruction,
the law that Moses gave us,
    the possession of the assembly of Jacob.
He was king over Jeshurun[c]
    when the leaders of the people assembled,
    along with the tribes of Israel”

Purely because this verse is in past tense, this proves this is not a prophecy. Also, it is referring to Yah shining on the Israelites when the Torah was given to Moses.

Jesus’ false prophecies

Christians believe the New Testament to be the word of God, however, it contains many false prophecies. So it is obvious this book is not from God. There is much evidence to say the New Testament is tampered with by the Roman Catholic church, so we don’t know if Jesus really ever said these false prophecies. But if Jesus did say these, he is a false prophet.

Jesus promised this in this verse =  Mark 13:27-31

26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it[a] is near, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

Now obviously, none of this has happened and the people that Jesus was talking to and their generation had died centuries ago! This makes Jesus a false prophet according the Torah.

Deuteronomy 18:20 – 22 But any prophet who presumes to speak in my name an Oracle that I didn not command him to utter, or who speaks in the name of other Gods – that prophet shall die. And you should ask yourselves “How can we know that the oracle was not spoken by the LORD?” — if the prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the oracle does not come true, that oracle was not spoken by the LORD; the prophet has uttered it presumpsouly, do not stand in dread of him”
This verse spoken by God proves Jesus was a false prophet.

Why Islam is not the true religion

Aside

The whole claim that Islam hangs upon is the prophethood of Muhammad. If the prophethood of Muhammad is disproven, then the whole of Islam is disproven. If the prophethood of Muhammad is proven, then Islam is the true religion.

In the Quran it says = “7:157. “Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper.”

“Whom they FIND mentioned in their own scripures” This implies that Muhammad is the prophet the Quran is refering to. So if Muhammad is this prophet and the people mentioned are the Jews and Christians, this implies that the prophecies could be found in the law and the gospel at the time of Muhammad.

There is no evidence of the Torah, the books of the Israelite prophets or the Gospels being corrupted since the time of Muhammad. Since there are no prophecies in the Torah, the prophets or the gospels about Muhammad, this statement is proven false. A statement that is false cannot come from God as God is perfect and does not lie.

Shalom

Shalom. I am Sophie Thompson, a 16 year old girl who has left Christianity and have come to the truth that the Tanakh ( Old Testament ) is the inerrant word of God and no other book. I have come to this conclusion because of the vast amount of historical statements in the Tanakh, which are absent in other books such as the New Testament, Quran, Vedas etc
